Dartmouth Names 17th President: Dr. Jim Yong Kim

Dartmouth College was founded in 1769 and yet it has had only 16 presidents! Compare that to 44 now for the US which began with George Washington in 1789 some 20 years later.
Dr Kim was born in Seoul South Korea but raised in Muscatine, Iowa and educated at Harvard. He is the first Asian-born person to lead an Ivy League school. He also plans to teach at the College which includes the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center a major health care resource for all of New Hampshire and Vermont.
We look forward to welcoming Dr. Kim to excellent theater by Northern Stage in the Briggs Opera House, art openings in the Zollikofer Gallery and for browsing the studios, shops and eateries in the Village of White River Junction.
